As a group, we were always been involved in organizing religious and cultural events at Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar locality, Mumbai. In 1996, we extended this initiative to the areas of education – awareness & support. The aim was to provide career guidance to the students and to help needful students who belongs to the financially backward society irrespective of their caste, creed and religion.

With this vision in mind, we formed a trust called Khalsa Library Management and Gurudwara Shri Dashmesh Darbar trustees offered us a space within the premises to operate. Majority of the founder members were students then but that did not stop us to go ahead and start this initiative by putting our time, selfless efforts and of course the pocket money. From 1997 onward, this initiative is financially supported by Gurudwara Shri Dashmesh Darbar, few other social trusts in the locality and like-minded individuals. And we never looked back…!

Initially, we advertised this initiative by putting a hoardings / banners outside the colleges in the vicinity and now it’s been automatically driven by ‘word-of-mouth’ publicity.

We offer books to needy college students at 90% subsidized rate in all streams. The support which was provided to Arts, Science and Commerce has been extended to all other streams includes Management, Computer Science, IT etc.

Tradition driven by technology and keeping that in mind, we moved from the manual record keeping to the automated platform since 2008 and we are upgrading as per today’s requirement and trend!
